My RADlet

I don't blog much about this child.  She has PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and RAD (reactive attachment disorder).  She is no fun, so no fun to blog about.  Actually there is alot of funny stuff that happens with her, but I'm not sure all of you would think it's funny.  So I don't blog about her so much.  Recently I took her to the eye doc. Last year she went to the eye doc with the rest of the kids.  It was hectic and I wasn't in the room when she was getting her eyes checked.  She came away with a prescription for glasses.  I never filled the prescription and have carried a little mommy guilt around about that.  One day she was in Costco with me and I thought - GLASSES!  So she chose a pair.  That darn prescription was expired!  I called the eye doc and he got us in a week later for a re-exam of Ari's eyes.  As we sat in the office, the doc examing her eyes, I could tell she was lying about not being able to see stuff.  The doc has a machine to test the eyes, so he used that.  You can't fool the machine.  She swore up and down that she could see so much better with the glasses on.  The machine said her eye sight is 20/25.  Oh the life of living with a RAD child.

See... not sure you all even get that part of my life.  The living with a RAD child part of my life.

I can get just a glimpse of what you're talking about. Someone (names starts with L) will believe SOMETHING because the mentioning of it makes her believe it. Like..."are you feeling ok?" OH, ACTUALLY, I DON'T FEEL SO GOOD, blah blah. The "power" of suggestion in her mind is good enough to make it real. It's quite humorous at times actually.
