Missionary Mail from Kenzie

Hello Family,

I got your package last week. Thank you. Couldnt believe my eyes
when I saw those wheat thins.

You are never gonna believe this but this week I baptized a family!!
We spent pretty much the whole week preparing for this. Hna Veronica
wanted everything perfect and so we were all stressed out the whole
week. then every day she invented some weird new thing that she
wanted at her wedding and we just had to keep saying no no no. every
time we went to her house shes just like im gonna start getting ready
tomorrow so finally on wednesday we ripped her out of her house and
went with her to buy some clothes for the wedding in the paca. that
was fun. not. We were nervous all week they werent going to go
through with it because every time we went to their house they had a
different excuse. and we had to talk them back into it. it wasnt too
hard but everyday something happened then saturday she was freaking
out cause they hadnt bought the rings yet and didnt want to get
married without the rings so we spent the whole morning searching for
rings for them. we finally found some that they could have ready for
that day and she was pumped. I felt bad that something so ghetto could
be so expensive and that she could love them so much. Saturday they
got married and hna alberto never showed and we waited and waited
finally we went to his house and there he was basically naked and hes
just like oh im about to shower and we were like oh take your time
youre not like an hour and a half late or anything. but they finally
got married and got baptized and they were super happy. they even
showed up to church 45 minutes early yesterday.

Yesterday we went to visit a little village in our area. we had to
first cross a river. thought for sure i was gonna biff it. But I
didnt. then we walked like an hour through a field of sugar cane,
which I ate along the way, then like 30 minutes through corn then we
finally got there and it was this little tribe that all lived in these
little wooden houses. It was awesome. there are a lot of members
there but they are all inactive. probably because it is so far away
and they dont really have buses or anything. The church was paying a
pick up truck to pick them up and drop them off every sunday but they
stopped so the people stopped coming.

we also went to another place named xula. this place was awesome it
was like a jungle with huge lizards and stuff. my comp also biffed it
and scraped up her knees and hands. haha.

my bruise on my forehead is finally starting to go away so people can
stop making fun of me.

Today we got to go play mini golf. pretty exciting.

They just opened a subway here. I ate there. they had funyuns. and
its in a mall. a mall. couldnt believe my eyes. every area i have
just keeps getting more and more civilized.

Looks like I will be having a child and dying here. Fun.

Im glad you are all partying without me! enjoy.

The church is true. Even when its pouring rain and you are soaked.
The spirit will always help you if you let it. and God answers
prayers. Serving the Lord makes me happy.

Love you and miss you.

Love,

Hermana Roney
